Manchester United cuts ties with Aeroflot

Aeroflot had served as Manchester United’s official airline for almost a decade, but in light of the recent Russian invasion on Ukarine, Manchester United has decided to terminate its relationship to Aeroflot.

The Russian flag carrier had served as on of the club’s key sponsors since 2013, the cancellation of the agreement comes as the UK set sanctions against Russia earlier this week.

The initial deal from 2013 was estimated to be worth around $40 million USD.

The club has reportedly already started removing Aeroflot branding from its premises, including the Aeroflot logo which was previously painted in the parking lot.

While the team is currently away playing a game they did not fly on Aeroflot as UK sanctions restrict the airline from entering UK airspace, instead they flew on Titan airways a charter airline based in the UK.
