Antonov was warned about the AN-225’s destruction, they ignored it

One of the AN-225’s pilots, Major Dmytro Antonov posted a video to YouTube accusing Antonov management of ignoring warnings from NATO on the impending invasion and risk to its aircraft.

Since both the company and pilot are named Antonov, we will refer to the pilot as Dmytro and to the company as Antonov

The biggest aircraft ever made, the Antonov AN-225 was destroyed at the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine war by Russian cruise missiles during the fight for Hostomel airbase in Kyiv, Antonov reported that the aircraft had not been flown out of Ukraine because it was down for maintenance with one of its engines missing.

Major Dmytro Antonov took to his YouTube channel to discuss why the airplane wasn’t moved out of Ukraine, he says that on January 26th NATO warned Antonov management through its Leipzig offices about the impending invasion of Ukraine and advised them to move all their aircraft, spare parts and personnel out of the country to Leipzig, Germany. Instead the company’s top management traveled to Germany and raided Antonov’s logistics and sales offices in Leipzig. Dmytro alleges this action was taken due to suspected connections to Russia.

Antonov has tried to cover this up, they remain quiet on the issue with no comment. If such allegations were true it would look very bad for the company’s leadership to have ignored such advice.

Dmytro has received threats from Antonov over his allegations, Let them threaten. [They did] a little revenge, they blocked my phone. As long as I still have access to the Internet, everything is fine,” he stated.
