Delta airlines suspends Aeroflot codeshare over Ukraine invasion

Delta airlines has suspended it codeshare agreement with Aeroflot effective immediately. As part of the SkyTeam alliance, Aeroflot had a codeshare agreement with Delta airlines, this allowed Aeroflot to sell tickets to destinations not offered by them but offered by Delta and vice-versa. Though it is common practice for most airlines within an alliance to have a codeshare agreement this is not always the case, a prime example of this is American Airlines and Qatar Airways, these two airlines are both part of the oneworld alliance but ended their codeshare agreement in 2018 after a dispute over state subsidies, it was later reinstated in 2021.

The suspension comes as Russia continues to invade Ukraine, many countries have banned Aeroflot from their airspace though it's unclear if the US will do the same.
